Iran to launch Master’s program in medical tourism
TEHRAN - For the first time in the country, Alborz University of Medical Sciences has been granted approval to establish a Master’s program in medical tourism, marking a significant milestone in Iran’s educational and healthcare landscape.
“This pioneering initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of skilled professionals in the burgeoning field of medical tourism,” the deputy of education at the university brought to light on Tuesday. “Additionally, graduates will be equipped to manage various active units within this sector.”
Dr. Shahrouz Yazdani stated that the approval came following a decision by the council for the development of medical universities, as a result of persistent efforts by the Alborz university’s administration.
He emphasized the broad impact of this program, noting its potential benefits in educational development, economic growth, job creation, and strengthening medical tourism countrywide.
“Currently, about half of health tourists enter the country through intermediaries,” Dr. Yazdani pointed out, underscoring that with the professional and certified services provided by graduates of this program, significant contributions can be made to all aspects of the medical tourism sector, including, service providers, and facilitating companies.
